I'm not sure what I am feeling. I know it's related to the CT deaths and the discussion of mental health, but I haven't understood what I think/feel other than tense and frustrated.
As I'm sure you know, I hate the idea of anyone being denied something (gun ownership for example) because of an illness (mental illness). I still feel that way and it's hard for me to see so many people linking things together. My mind is not clear enough to enumerate the problems with the things people have said, and I know most people mean well etc.
So instead of a cogent post, I will only write a few sentences of things.
-Just because someone does something "crazy" doesn't mean that they have a mental illness nor does it mean that if they do have a mental illness it has anything to do with that action.
-26 or so people were killed by one person. That sucks super hard, but I am sure there were many other murders that occurred the same day that were also tragic.
-There are tons of reasons to help people who have mental illness but it takes a tragedy situation for people to even consider it.
-Along that line, I HATE that people who do stupid things get more attention than people who are just as fucked up, but are able to control themselves. People are always rewarded for being dicks.
I don't know. BAH.
